my first and one and only CRUMPLER!!! WOOHOO~!!!! (^ 0 ^)v
although i still can't really believe myself that my very very first crumpler is a CAMERA bag (>_<)" camera bag!!!!?! anyways its name is really worth a mention. it's called the six million dollar home. SO CUTE RIGHT??!!! they have from one to seven million depending on size. all crumplers have such cute names. and crumpler's web is equally kawaii!
there's actually brown, black, blue and red. of cos the first i set my eyes on was RED. it was SO pretty!!! (^3^) esp the red seven million home. buttt..... after a bit of consideration and explanation from dad, i got the brown. red is kinda.... unsafe? like so super uber attention attracting and REALLY informal. well, that's if i ever get to do other formal events again... then black is no doubt formal but can get dirty easily and they didnt have blue. so, left with brown. the colour wasn't as bad as i expected. cos only red and black was on display at paragon and they didnt have brown there so they reserved a brown for me at wheelock.
i feel really blessed today. for everything.
like how my family is so supportive of everything i stick my nose into and everything i do. even though sometimes it might not be the best situation to be in. of course photography is my dad's interest too so that explains the eagerness of him to get me the camera. but, the bag and flash is actually more of my 'want'. but although so, he still got it for me - no questions asked.
and in terms of school and future career directions, they are all behind me cheering me on to pursue anything i want. although there might be some financial issues to be taken into consideration, but i must say, they'll really go all the way for me.
i am also really fortunate to enjoy a lifestyle like this.
just take today for example, woke up and went to takashimaya to yum cha. then we started shopping. looking for gifts for the kids tomorrow since it's children's day. looked for a possible new washing machine then went to get mooncakes [and i couldnt get the single yolk white lotus i wanted!! (>_<)]. and again looked for a gift for one of the kids. lastly, off to crumpler from paragon to wheelock. while dad and i was at paragon, mum and sis went to get the cho oishii soy sauce chicken from crystal jade for dinner. and after wheelock, came back home with sis while mum and dad went for a massage. dinner was a great meal of home made sushi, miso soup and that chicken.
i suppose our kind of lifestyle is kinda ideal? to me it is really fabulous. there is no need for me to worry about any 'adult' matters, i can just concentrate on my interest, on studies and friends. and the fact that our family is so very close knitted and has good communication between each other, at least it is this case to me.
i'm really thankful that i have such a fantastic family (^-^)

(>_<) can i have teeth transplants like organ transplants?? will someone with a healthy set of teeth donate it to me so that i can just change my whole set once and for all??

dad suddenly called this afternoon and asked if i would like to go simlim to check out the camera. i was supposed to go to the dentist at that time actually. but anyways off i went to bugis of course~
and here it is!!!!
i even got a flash for it! and i had no idea the flash costs so much!! its friggin $470 can?!!! whole package was $1970. is it considered ok?? now i can't bear to burst. i dont wanna kill my shutter!! it's after all my VERY FIRST DSLR. how much should i chip in? say $500? should be enough right?
that's how i hold the cam!! 400D looks small doesnt it?
had to buy it with the kit lens, so dad says he'll most probably be selling it off nxt month and get me another lens. sigma 18-200mm maybe?
the canon bag that came along in the package is VERY UGLY.

the most important factor is to make sure that buying it is purely for my interest in photography and not because of anyone else. but i can't seem to separate the two!!
and perhaps its just a heat of the moment thing. perhaps my interest will fade soon enough. perhaps the camera might proof it's not that good in the end. perhaps the money can be better spent on other things. and actually i don't have reasons to support me buying. it's just interest. and for that i dare not say how long it'll last. i am not even sure if i am ready to be interested in photography.
perhaps the konica minolta is good enough.
the world is filled with WEIRD people all around us. it's freaky how HENTAI people can be.

IMF has officially ended!!
it was great overall - the experience, the people, the food, the discounts etc... (^-^)
all the photographers are really so very very very into photography. to such an extent that i am stunned. photography jargon flying across the room, during lunch, basically everywhere and every minute of every day (o_O) i had totally no idea there was SO SO SO much about photography.
learnt alot of photog stuffs from everyone and this event has actually got me interested in photog!!! gosh. not that i don't like photog but i just can't imagine myself as one of them. photog is really fun and interesting no doubt, and a dSLR actually looks kinda nice with the correct accessories [definitely not my superman flash (-__-)"]. i'm really getting interested but i still can't imagine myself as a photographer. although there is like absolute support from my dad, which will therefore settle any financial matters for it, i just can't get over myself.
however i guess i'll miss it, and yes, missing the no-life one week event is really no life (>_<) all the waking-up-earlier-than-the-alarm-clock stress, the TERRIBLE HORRIBLE pain suffered due to the dunno how many blisters and simply walking in heels, the dread of choosing what attire to wear the next day, the impossible to understand photography talk in the rest room and all the boring waiting times due the inability to contribute to any intellectual photog conversation with anyone else.... gosh, i felt like a vase there. totally empty inside.
but it was a great experience.
everything was worth it considering that there were also fun times together with the others. awing at their gorgeous photos and amazing photoshop skills. like WOW. they are the pros of the pros.
anyway, it's a special day today!!
firstly, it's the end of IMF. then, it's the day that i can finally change my phone!!!! \(^0^)/ lastly, i sat on a lorry!! LOL
the lorry ride was amazing!!! even though i felt like a banglah (^ x ^)" cos it was such a lovely cool evening, the wind was soooo shiok!!! messed up all my hair! and i thought my earring would just fly off anytime! hahah~~ the ride was really fun!! i hope i can get another chance to ride on such a open top lorry again!!! wheeeee~
actually wanted to stay longer at labyrinth [if it's spelt this way...] watching them play pool is really entertaining. they are also pros at pool can??!!!! like willy [duh], raymond, aloysius etc... willy was like a teacher bringing a group of kids there to hold a pool-is-not-just-about-poking-balls class. it was so embarrassing. all the adults around were like staring (>_<) but he was really good at it.
i feel like helping at willy's shoots.

had my first assignment today!! a press con. quite interesting to shoot, learnt some photog stuff from one of the guys, got a few nice shots. BUT the low light thing ar.... TSK (>,<)

i am so relieved now.
even though i got the olympus DSLR and the nikon flash from sch so as to LOOK pro at the imf, i just found out that it can't work!!! not only the camera weighs a TON, the flash is a nikon. that's the real big problem. a non compatible flash is almost as good as not having one. it'll just bloody well blind all the delegates.
fortunately nicholas, one of the organisers, planned the roster in such a way that huimin and i can share a camera!!! YAY \(^-^)/ i'm sure he had some supernatural powers to know about this dillema so he planned as such.
BUT it's really sad huimin and i are in different groups on entirely different days (T_T) i'm on for 16th and 19th while huimin is on duty for 15th, 17th and 20th.
i'll officially be labelled the photography idiot at the end of this.
the first thing this morning was to look for materials to make a better bounce card. so off to popular at tampines right in the morning. and there i found my 30cents. its actually a white vanguard sheet which i just got for the sake of getting and i named it 30cents cos it's 30 cents (-_-)" so we headed home.
we got on an old and dirty bus 67 and 30cents sat beside me taking up one whole seat. it shifted and rolled about during the ride. i was thinking if i should place 30cents on my lap so that other passengers can sit as the ride went on. but 30cents is quite grown and occupies a big space. so i thought it would be more comfortable with a seat to itself. but then more and more people got on, so i thought i should really be considerate. so in the end 30cents had to sit on my lap which i didn't like. i'm sure it didn't like it too cos i was resting my arms on it so that it wont fall. 30cents is really irritating at times like boarding and alighting the bus, opening the doors, etc...
but 30cents is good when it came to the making of the better bounce card. it came out quite satisfactory although the foamtastic superman bounce card with the white barbie doll clothes band was better (^o^)
i actually don't know what's the point of this adventures with 30cents, but i thought i should tell everyone that i bought a white vanguard sheet and named it 30cents cos it's cute.

why must we wear formal??!! i thought a formal top with jeans looked formal enough for photographers, no? how are we gonna be comfortable enough to take photos in formal?!!

i'm scared that while the crows escape for their lives, one accidentally flies into our flat. that would be FREAKY. once a small yellow bird flew in and couldn't find its way out and got lost amidst the laundry and flew into the windows. oh my. but somehow it flew away to safety. but what if it's a crow??!!! i was on the comp about to click something and the whole house went BLACK and there was a loud pop sound. it was pitch black. kaman shock!

i'm kinda quite looking forward to IMF. suntec convention centre and the area around it has been totally transformed!! it's kinda pretty now, out with the ugly constructions and in comes the beautiful greenery and flowers!! the inside of the centre has also became very pretty and bright. the offices smell like playdoh though. ( ^-^)"
it's a miracle how singapore construction can work SOO fast when required. our estate upgrades are taking forever...
wouldn't it be fantastic if there's a disney sea in singapore? i really really hope disneyland can set up here!! that will be so exciting!!! and with all the other new shopping and IRs coming up, it'll make singapore into a one-stop-and-you-can-find-the-world country!
there's too many construction going on that i have no idea what exactly are the new places. the big mall at harbourfront, the sports mall at novena, the stadium, the mrt, and not forgetting the IRs and the 3 gigantic parks at marina. oh gosh, singapore is gonna burst! and there's still our estate upgrade to be done!!!! (>.<) oh oh i just remembered, there's also the new mall at orchard! WOW!
the internet is really not a safe place for all kinds of comments. who knows who might be reading them. like the IMF thing, those photographers from the forum said some of their negative thoughts and the organiser found it! and of course, shoot back at them, kind of. internet is really not safe. i guess sooner or later, we will fall back on the traditional diaries and face to face small group talks instead of blogs and forums. internet will only be used as a stage for announcing views that are meant for the whole world. yes. i believe so.

i'm back from the wonderful hatyai shopping trip!!! it was grrrrreaaat!!! (^0^)b
shop and shop and shop for the whole of the 3 days 2 night trip. wonderful shopping hatyai offers. cheap cheAP CHEAP!! everything was a good bargain even if we don't bargain. hahah~ food was good too. manicures and massages in thailand are a must. even i had a back and shoulder massage. my very brave first time. i had a male masseur, which was a kinda weird experience. i became a caterpillar the WHOLE time. all the goosebumps i have when massaged. goodness. they laughed like hell i tell ya ( >_<)" but after the massage, my back ached though. maybe it's because of my condition, and he pressed pretty hard on my spine muscles...
