it's your wedding
11:33 PM

What a tiring day yesterday!! And it totally didn't help that I'm down with such SERIOUS flu!!! (T_T)
After exchanging the 50mm at simlim [finally...], off I went to Conrad hotel for willy's shoot.
From 6.30pm all the way to 12+am - work, work, work. Recognising people has never been so tough!! All those black and white (>___<)!! But the couple looked really gorgeous and the little kids and babies are just so kawaii!!! (^3^)
But why oh why?? How can it be that I can actually wear the same thing as that cher guy?!!!! (>o<)" I purposely went to buy like half an hour before the event one can??!!! Same design, same colour. Of course, different cutting.. but still...!!! And even the same crumpler!!! What is thisssss??????!!!!! (>__<) like qing lu zhuang la.. tsk.
Got home only like 1.20am. But because of that cv and photos thing, I could only sleep at like around 2.45am!!! And lessons was at 9am today!!! boo.

oh happy wedding for you~~~

the flower buds that got burnt.

Flu is as bad as ever.
Went to Liang Court with nad today after school. And and and!! Helped her give out flyers!!! (^0^)!! I gave out 5 among the 47 flyers!! LOL! Funny stuff.

And we were late for school today. Like what better time than today to be late yea.. Mr D just have to suddenly pop up at lecture like this (>_<)

day of accomplisment
1:57 AM

After sending mum and dad off at the airport, it was the start of my photography adventure with sis!! Initially, I intended to go to bukit merah only - to look for that CdGGS+65 shop. And after that was sinking of japan at vivo. But... on the way there on the train, sis spotted the chinese wayang tentages just next to eunos station. So... thinking it might be a good place to shoot something old, something new, we cancelled the trip to vivo. And... while at bukit merah, where I didn't really get good shots, I thought of returning to arab street. To the same place that nhk (LOL!!) went to on thursday!!
Therefore, today was such a fruitful day cos I went from changi airport to bukit merah to bugis and lastly to eunos (^-^)v

First destination.... Bukit merah!!
Somewhere that I have never been before....

It's a really OLD estate!! There were quite a few salons like this, and basically all VERY traditional shops. But the old folks there (which I think makes up the majority of the bukit merah population..) are very friendly!!

The legendary CdGGS!! It's a really weird setting to be in!! Such an old estate and such a futuristic japanese fashion outlet. But the clothes they have are indeed lovely. And at a VERY high price. These two guys are TOTALLY clueless about this shop but they are dressing as though they are fans (-__-)"

Sis was so nice to wait for me while I snap around this area. But well, she was nice the WHOLE day and accompanied me. Or rather, waited for me.
Then was bugis...
I just like this wall alot. It's kinda cool.
And then, off to eunos after shopping at muji and getting mum's bling bling birthday present...
When we got there, I suddenly got all nervous and didn't know if I should approach them and ask if I can take some photos. But in the end, they turned out to be really nice people and told me to come back at about 6.30pm when they start their makeup.
After eating and strolling around (and eunos turned out to be another really old estate..), I went back and up to their backstage. Literally up, I had to climb a ladder!! Freakkyyy....

Traditional chinese wayang hats. Hmm... but how come none of them wore these?? They were female characters, that's why!! (>___<)

Their makeup is kinda nice once you learn how to appreciate it. And I am beginning to already. They do their hair and makeup all on their own!! All of them are so used to doing these routines that they wait only till quite late to start preparing. The rest of the time is spent eating, smoking and mainly talking to each other in dialect which I have no idea about. There were 2 boys about my age there too. And they helped with hanging the "Today's show" board on stage and also replacing the almost burnt joss stick. I think their mums are among the performers.
These performers are really pro!! They didn't even rehearse backstage and can go straight on stage when just a second ago, they were doing their make up!
And they only put on their costumes just before going out on stage. They have their own normal clothes underneath. Imagine the heat!!

*chiangchiang* Show's about to begin!! Audience don't leave~~

Fully geared up and ready to go!!... But wait... just let me check the 4D numbers ok?

Why are we waiting? Why are we waiting??

This was taken through the big hole where the musicians look through to see what's going on on stage so as to follow the performer's pace. It actually rained just before the show started. And there's still so much audience!!
Chinese opera doesn't seem so bad after all.

I seriously think I am falling sick *sniff*

i am beginning to dislike school
8:56 PM

i've been in school for 2 days and this semester is starting to seem SO stressful already (>_<) i wonder if i can cope. the amount of assignments we have is just insane!!! and each and every assignment seems so time and effort consuming!!! ahhhhh~!!! (>0<) [no more gut rot kidney bean for me it seems.. (T_T)]

sometimes i wish i had the talent for speaking too. and especially now that i'm doing broadcast performance, all the articulation and expressive speaking really counts. it's our first lesson today and i already feel screwed up. hopefully i'll improve along the way.
ganbarimasu!!! (^-^)9

架勢堂's time slot is gonna change back to 10pm-12mn starting next monday!!! YAYAYAYAY!! \(^0^)/ no more late late nights for meeee~~
this show is just addictive!!!

i want a macbook!!! pro or not pro i don't care.
i just want a macbook!!!!

i used to have some against typing with the proper capital letters. But I suddenly felt it looks better when typed with all the correct capitals and punctuations. So, from this post, I should try typing like this.

midnight adventure at wookneuk [aka MAW]
4:02 PM

last night's MAW was really exciting and suprising! and i of course enjoyed it very much. and i certainly wanna go on such 'adventures' again!!!

why exciting... well, for one, i totally didn't know what to expect AT ALL. and well, going to such a eerie place late in the night is exciting enough isn't it. and since it is private property, we are actually 'trespassers' you know.

suprising because of my courage!!! there were like at least a million little flying insects buzzing around us and especially near my torchlight!! yuxin said they were sandflies. they kept crashing into my hand!!! then, aloysius kicked a frog which was about palm size. although the frog wasnt injured, it still looks kinda gross. there was even an insect [which i really suspect was a scorpion] on my chest and i swiped it off - with my bare hand!!! and all those tall bushes that kept scraping against us (>_<) i'm so shocked by my own bravery to go through all that without screaming and squirming!!! (^-^)v

woodneuk isn't that spooky actually even at midnight. perhaps it was because i was just too engrossed fending away the insects but there's really nothing to be freaked out about other than insects and other crawlies. the house was quite a normal run down building [and very much alike the hostel from kame's kindaichi (^0^)] with trash and broken tiles all over the place. the moonlight was relatively bright so we didn't even use our torchlights for some distance. and the constant traffic noise from the road just beside totally kills the atmosphere. i didn't take many shots cos that wasn't exactly why i went for this outing. i just wanted to look around, explore and see how scaredy cat or brave i was. all the spooky photos and rumors makes my hair stand, so i thought it would be fun to go there and experience it myself and see how it's really like.

the numbers were our call numbers just to make sure we're still here.. all 9 of us! somehow a number 10 aappeared.... (>_>) and apparently there is a superstition that we shouldnt call each other's real names in places like this... scaryyyyy~~
i'm really short aren't i?? (>.<) this definitely doesn't look like 11+pm!!
the blurness... result of tripod-less shake. i was just too lazy to lug the tripod around town.

da house! looks better in b/w. it was actually shot in colour with flash. but the sky turned out SUPER orangey and the house was even less scary looking in colour.

looks like sunset doesn't it??! it was actually close to midnight at that time. just outside the doorsteps were broken tiles, pieces of wood, shattered glass and a toilet seat [?!] scattered all around together with weeds and stones. inside the house, there was even a mos burger cup and a big glup on the floor!! such inconsiderate litter bugs.
there were several rooms that we didn't enter and we didn't go onto the second floor too.

is that blood i see??!!! *gasps*

the stairway

then, a frigtening thing happened!
we were shooting around this stairs and suddenly jisheng screamed. he got bitten by a scorpion!!! OMG!! he thought it was a wood splinter and was swiping it off his neck and the scorpion bit his finger!! then aloysius and melvin swatted if off with the monopod and *bam* melvin crushed it with his mighty boots. the scorpion was around palm's length.
so all of us stopped everything immediately, left as quickly as we could and rushed to gleneagles hospital. luckily the scorpion wasn't very toxic and jisheng was feeling ok after a while. phew~

since jisheng is so *cough* 'MAN', he survived it and was as genki as ever. since we, with me in particular, were hungry, we went to jalan kayu for roti prata supper!!! (^o^)
while we were waiting to order, willy suddenly appeared!!! (0.0)!! how small can singapore get??!!!! so he and his girlfriend joined us. yuxin and i shared a cho oiishi kambing soup and roti john!!! (^3^) although the roti john ended up being shared among all of us cos the serving is SO HUGE.
at first we actually thought of staying out till the first bus/train home. but i guess everyone got tired. well duh, it was already 3.30am when we left the roti prata stall.
and melvin was so super nice to send yuxin, aloysius and i home!!
it's really FUN FUN FUN riding his pick up truck with super cooling [but sometimes stinky] late night wind disfiguring our faces. since it was so early in the morning, there was very little traffic so the ride was really really shiok!!!
arigato to the organisers of this outing!!! it was fabulous!!! (^0^)b

anyways, rewind a bit. before meeting them at orchard for this outing, huimin accompanied me all the way!!! (^3^) yuxin was supposed to meet me for dinner in town but she couldn't make it in the end. and huimin who was about to go home after shopping for mel's birthday present, stayed with me until the meeting time!! and of cos time for her to rush home for america's next top model too. but really really arigato gozaimasu!! (^3^) love your company tjan!!!

freedom... so long~
1:10 AM

there goes my 2 months minus 3 days break. a whole new school term is gonna start in 8+ hours. this 2 months seemed SO SHORT!! and yes, i am already looking forward AND planning for my next break which will be in december.

this break has been my busiest holidays ever!! i've never really had many slack days. either i'm out with friends or working or doing photog. i think i only had about 3 days total SLACK days in total (O.O) that's definitely some kind of record.
these last 3 days of freedom was spent going out with mel, shooting at geylang serai's hari raya celebrations, REBONDING my hair, getting [and exchanging] lenses.

final friday [20 oct]
met mel for lunch and shopped around bugis where i got a shirt [which turned out to be too tight (>_<)]. tjan joined us later and 3 of us got a shirt each and mel got herself a birthday dress!!! after bugis was meeting raymond and gabriel at the stadium. photography wasn't allowed there but there wasnt anything interesting to shoot anyway. then went in search of the famous old airport road hawker but failed and settled dinner at some deserted coffee shop. got on another bus to geylang serai... and saw that hawker!! booo.
geylang serai was totally crammed with people. all that jostling, gosh. but it was extremely 热闹. practically everyone was there. malay or non malays alike. all in that oh-so-excited festive mood. it's much much nicer than chinese new year at chinatown. chinese just doesn't seem to be excited about new years anymore. especially youngsters when it comes to shopping. but at geylang serai, there were like SO SO MANY groups of youngsters going together.
the hari raya goodies are like awesome!!! they even made cookies in the shape and colour of bananas, strawberrys, green apples, watermelons [both red and yellow!!! (^o^)] and mushrooms!! cho cho kawaii!!! i didn't get to taste any of them though...
anyways, it was a really refreshing experience going to a malay festive occasion like this (^-^)

there were TONS of colourful and pretty carpets on sale!!! only if i could lug this home...

some twirly whirly sticks for decorations. i think they're really pretty too.

spending saturday [21 oct]
had breakfast at swensens tampines and went to have a hair cut since school's gonna start and my hair is like forever unkempt. i somehow just can't get rid of the habit of having a hair cut before school starts. it's so secondary school.
anyways, that morning i was hesitating whether or not should i colour my hair. but still decided that it's not time yet. so, went to i*con at century square wanting to just have a hair cut. i told dave, my hair stylist, that i wanted to get rid of the irritaing curls but keep the length. yea, i know it's kinda impossible, but still.... he started snipping away. and he was done very soon later. then, he told me that some of the curls will still be there due to the length and suggested that i rebond or straighten just to let it grow longer and i can do whatever else i want then. mum was having her hair cut beside me so i asked her if i should rebond. she supported that idea - since she is like a total fan of rebonding. so since the one paying gave the green light, i went ahead for the rebond. totally unexpected. but it turned out quite good i think. it's not the really flat results and the ends doesn't really fall straight straight, kinda natural. i like it.
and nad asked why didn't i get the frizzy perm instead last night. YEA!!! i just totally forgot about that frizzy hair that i wanted to have. right (>.<) after the hair cut, dad and i went to sim lim square. and there he bought me not 1, but 2 lenses!!! OMGosh. initially, i was thinking of the 17-55mm 2.8 IS lens, BUT it is SO SO SO HEAVY!!! and expensive.. then tried the 17-85mm 4-5.6 IS lens and it was quite good- the weight and range. so decided to get it and also the 50mm 1.8. both the lenses plus the filters didn't even cost as much as the 2.8 lens!!! can you imagine??!!! [and even if i get a hood for the 17-85, it'll still be cheaper!!! (>_<)]

sian sunday [today]
spent the morning palying theme hospital. it's REALLY entertaining!! all those silly illnesses and hilarious hospital broadcasts : "Patients are expected to be patient" "Patients are reminded not to die in the corridors" "Patients are reminded not to vomit too much". LOL!
and edited the childcare videos for mum.
then we went to alan photo again to get the 50mm changed cos there was a dot on the lens. but they ran out of stock. gotta go back again next week.
dinner was at nanxiang xiaolongbao at bugis!!! THE XIAOLONGBAO CHO OISHII!!! (^3^) it's even better than ding tai feng's. but the other stuff i find them too salty and oily. so it shows that nanxiang is more authentic (^-^)
since sis wasn't full, we had banana pizza at pasta mania after that.
came back, and was on theme hospital once again.

so there goes my 2 months~~
i can just see the evil fingers of school clawing at me from behind....

i can't wait for december!!!

and FYI, my birthday is coming real soon.
only 19 days away.... tra la la la~~

tampines day
1:04 AM

i actually had a job 'interview' today!
its my first ever i think. and so LAST MINUTE. it was only decided at 12nn and had that interview at 4+pm.
but its very brief actually, not like a real interview with resume and those stuff.
it was at long john's so what can you expect yea.
i hope they'll pick me! have always wanted to work as sales. seems fun!!! (^-^)
just the other day, i was telling huimin i wanna work as sales and this morning, yuxin asked if we wanted to work as promoters for bluetooth stuffs. why not??!!
so next time when i want something, i should tell huimin and it'll come true!!

then went around tampines taking photos. and tried out the school's zoom lens.

this little girl's having her hand henna-ed!! at the park!

kawaii little boy!! who got so stunned by huimin's camera.

i'm so amazed by that sesame bao at ding tai fung!! LOL (^0^)
but it wasn't really good. VERY OILY!! the sesame bao from food republic's bao jin tian was better!!

dad sold his stocks just now. it was so exciting!! seeing the numbers jump up and up and then dip down. BUT HE SOLD AT THE WRONG TIME!!!
that very second he sold it, the numbers bounced up again!!

i actually learnt how to use the sewing machine!!!
for the sake of the barbie doll bands for the superman bounce card. finished my half of the bands!!
and now the camp's postponed once again...
oh well.

that was good~!
6:06 PM

yea i'm a little slow but kuitan special in hongkong is like HILARIOUS!!
the subs just came out so i decided to watch for the sake of kame's little guest starring in it. but i totally couldn't spot aiba kun!! (^o^)
BUT IT WAS ROFL FUNNY!!! that jap-canto they spoke!!! (@-@)
and to think that they actually went to hongkong to film it!!! can you imagine?!!! both go morita and aiba in hk?!!! (>___<)
how about a tatta special in singapore??? or nobuta or kurosaki specials here??!! LOL

other than funny, kuitan sp was mostly lame. like how kuitan got angry with those baddies because they caused stress for the piggies. and that bruce lee outfit!! hahaha!!
and their way of telling everyone that there'll be kuitan 2 coming... (-__-)"

the most most most funny part was that they had AGNES PUDDING!!! from my boss my hero! and kame appeared as hiroto and kuitan said something like he would definitely fall in love and it'll be a memorable one. it was so so promo can!!

and they just had to end with kame smoking (>__<)!!!

we are here to appreciate you
1:59 AM

came back from the long awaited S2006 appreciation dinner. frankly speaking, was kinda disappointed (>_<) there was no buffet food left by the time we reached the food tents, so had to cramp inside food republic and redeem free food with our coupons.
and vivo food republic's hokkien mee is no where near wisma's.
there wasn't much scenery due to THE HAZE.

the whole group on stage [which photography later got banned cos the stage might give way... (-_-)"] and i don't know why jamie yeo is in it too...
credits to some unknown photographer and gary's camera.

vivo was okaay... the shops were quite normal, not much new stuffs. and many of the shops are still not opened anyway. but as expected, vivo's going the up market range so not much of a shopping place for me. i should stick to overseas shopping!! (^-^)
BUT! the playground there is FUN!!! and new!! they are all new versions of our usual see-saw, swing and what nots. and there's even a slope for kids to slide!!
and there's a BIG candy empire there though. i wanna junk!!!

!!! OMG!!
niko got me kattun stuff from japan!!!!
ahhhh~~~ I JUST TOTALLY LOVE THAT GIRL!! (^3^)

bubble bubble, toil and trouble
9:59 PM

went back to school today with tjan to borrow stuff for [in this order of importance...] playing, camp and photo competition. and just like the previous time, we can't find our lecturers!! it's either she who wasn't in, or he who was out (>_<) so all we could do was sit around and TALK AND TALK about JE loves and wait till we think they're back.
being in school waiting around during holidays is truly sad.

oh! theres a new lecturer in CMM. winnie tan. marketing (o_O)

the preparation for tomorrow's S2006 dinner is troublesome!!
had to IRON that wrinkle-free dress. and when i say wrinkle-free, i mean that the wrinkles are literally FREE OF CHARGE and can never be gotten rid off unless after like an hour of ironing, which i basically did just now. and i HOPE that the wrinkles will not surface again tomorrow.
and had to do some grooming too.
BUT. i am still really excited to go to vivocity!

PSI today has been horrible once again. and that sucks. ALOT.

nad: my blog is productive???!

right...
12:23 AM

Your husband's name is kame and you have 9 children. You're a teacher who drives to work every day in a yellow volkswagen beetle.
It's truly a wonderful life when you consider the countless romantic nights you have spent with kame in your shack in japan.

so i can't be a street sweeper, gambler, director nor policewoman in either africa, peru, china, nor north korea (-_-)"

but i actually i figured out the 'random' assignment it had. my previous was:
Your husband's name is yamapi and you have 3 children. You're a director who drives to work every day in a yellow porsche.
It's truly a wonderful life when you consider the countless romantic nights you have spent with yamapi in your shack in hong kong.

お疲れでした
11:28 PM

it's a wrap!
ron's 300 series shoot ended successfully this afternoon. very very successful i must say.
it was quite a tiring 4 days. and i just somehow seem to be always dozing off in the mornings (^-^)
at the end of everything while we were packing up, ron called all of us to sit around the table. cos it was a very touching scene when we were all having lunch at the table together so we gathered again. and yes, i did not have to work at lunch this time round. well, at least for most days. anyways, then he opened champagne and started thanking all of us individually and gave us each a red packet! the local way of thanking. it's really really nice to feel appreciated for things you do. like how you didnt know that the normal kind of things you do is actually so appreciated by others. what he said had really touched me and it was slightly tear jerking somehow. it must be all that champagne... well, nevermind that i am underaged by a month.
tania's red packet was a RED PLASTIC BAG FULL OF VEG! the ron's concoction mix. then he brought out the power juicer out of nowhere! LOL tania was really touched and cried.. awww...
working with them has been really fun and relaxed. not that the shoot wasn't stressful, but i was very at ease when i'm not on the teleprompter. like how i've gotten used to everyone's presence already and feel very at home with them. but come to think of it, i've known them for 3 years now.

i wonder when will be the next shoot. it doesn't seem to be planned, like as though all the shoots are done with. but whenever it might be, i hope i'll be involved once again.

i'm missing the early days. i'm missing the 3 bottles of heaven and earth green tea that shawn got specially for me. i'm missing the tense atmosphere during a take. i'm missing the in between take time when ron starts dancing to his music and clapping out loud. i'm missing the last minute corrections done to the script in the mornings, and in between takes. i'm missing the great meals and snacks thats always available on the table. i'm missing the i-think-i'll-just-fall-asleep mood.
i'm missing everything of the shoot!!!
dang.

but well, perhaps my major project might be ron's. maybe.

jin on hiatus
7:10 PM

so it's all confirmed.

jin is putting a long pause in his career to pursue his interests overseas.
it was really heartbreaking to see that news. but it's good to know KTTUN are so supportive of his decision, no matter how ridiculous and selfish it is. it's not even confirm how long he wants to be away. shortest six months, longest... who knows.
but i think he'll come back. yes, i think he definitely will.

where would he go?? i really wonder.
since it's jin, so NY perhaps?

anyways, today's the third day of ron's shoot. and it will end tomorrow if everything goes according to plan, which i hope and think it will.
the shoot this time round went on EXTREMELY smooth. we ended at 4.30 today!! and since these 2 last scripts are relatively short... and tomorrow will be even lesser than today... YAY!!!
went to ron's office-cum-home yesterday to check out his jack lalanne's power juicer with tania and anthony. ron was like the promoters you see at the malls!! (^0^) so we had a concoction of cucumber, celery, zucchini, japanese cucumber, carrot and tomato juice. and that was after we tasted each individually. it actually tasted quite good! i expected the carrot to be the most BLEH, but it was much much better. and zucchini juice taste like meat! (o_O)
but the juicer is kinda good. REAL QUIET and gives 30% more juice.... but still, its too much of a hassle for me to wash.
jenny baked some vege patties with the pulp of ron's concoction and it's kinda good!! although it seems a little like baby food to me...
ron: kaman, so actually how old are you?
me: i'm turning 18 next month~
ron and jen: *jaws drop* (O.O)
jen thought i was like 23 or so (>0<)!!
reponsibility doesnt have to come with age does it??!!!
and being mature is a compliment??!
mature = old.
thanks ron for it, but.... i am still stuck with the equation.

busy busy me
8:53 PM

this 3 photos basically sums up tuesday (10 oct) and today.
thanks chengyu for the prime cover shoot photo!
p/s click on the photo and enlarge to view.

its A WHOLE LOAD OF FUN going for shoots. photog or video alike (^0^)

today's ron kaufman's shoot went quite smoothly. and we finished early!!! BUT its only the first day. 4 more days to go... shouldn't say that so early. especially considering we only shot 40% of the first 2 scripts today. we still have the 60% for tomorrow and 3 other scripts for the next 3 days (>_<) demo... ganbarimasu!!

I AM SO TIRED!!!

a photoshoot without photos
9:35 PM

went for PRIME magazine's cover shoot today!!
IT WAS FANTABULOUS!! (^-^) although it was SO really hot and humid AND hazy (-_-)" really sweated it out today. was practically dripping!! even indoors was kinda warm. tsk. anyways, the shoot itself was FUN!!! learnt how to set up umbrella lights and to hold a reflector by looking at the shadows etc. AND AND AND!!! the most most important thing is I GOT TO SHOOT!!! damn fun la!! it was for the inside photos so they wanted some candid shots of irene and kathy. so willy passed me the plunger/trigger and i just pressed and pressed~ SO SHIOK LA!! they were really lively during the conversation [about food!!!] so could capture some nice expressions. and and and!! the clients liked the photos (^-^)v
holding a reflector all the way UP is SO TIRING!!! and willy's shooting pack IS SO HEAVY!!
didnt get to shoot any photos of the shoot on my own camera though (>_<)

accompanied dad for his check up at SGH this morning. had delifrance breakfast!!! was kinda good. since there was nothing to do while waiting, snapped a few close ups. the background's kinda blur ne~ hahah..

stitch!!

lipton tea bag advertisment!

errr... this is just.... yea.

last night, no this morning at 1+am, i made this for dear tjan.
please just try to visualise it without the copyright stuff. i know that is very irritating. BUT there are just some people who do not like to credit.
oh! and that's the CORRECT way of copyrighting. hahah~

DROP DEAD SEXY JIN!!!! (^3^)

omg i woke at 7am today!!

it's over
2:02 PM

the haze is finally gone.
and so is her bad mood.

the haze yesterday was like SO SO SO BAD!!!! (> O <)
PSI reached 150??!! and that sickening burnt stench came with it (>.<)
the haze made the whole of singapore seem like a set in a horror movie.

the lost? photography talk was much more interesting than i expected. the speakers were all really light-hearted and that lawyer... hahah! and of course their photos were GREAT!! and that guy actually gave away his books!! it's $100/book ok...
then we walked around the HAZY town in search of food. thank god we didnt go to glutton bay.

i wonder who were we talking to??

day out
10:24 PM

towned with nad and watched scoop this afternoon.
scoop is nice!! at least the ending wasn't crappy. and i could understand all the dialogue!! usually they would speak so fast that even with subtitles i wont be able to catch the whole thing. but this time, it was suprising ok! (^-^)
and i got all smitten by that lovely accent hugh jackman had (*U3U*) scarlet johansson's glasses and wardrobe are like a total failure (@.@) or else she would be much prettier.

then we went walking around in kino and bumped into mrs nah!! almost couldnt recognise her!!! it's her anti social day today. LOL such a funny woman.

the desserts at ajitei are really weird.
it just doesnt make sense to have salty desserts.

retro ah beng! (-_-)"

scrumptious dinner!!
1:27 PM

decided to cook up something good for everyone.
so went online for some recipes last night. wanted to bake a banana oreo cheesecake but couldnt!!! my oven doesnt allow for baking cakes in a basin of water!! (>_<)" theres so many cakes i wanted to bake but couldnt...
anyway, i settled on cooking dinner instead. and here it is!!

dinner was sooo good!! if i may say so myself (^-^) there was actually 2 other dishes, one leftovers and the other was an appetiser of some mixed veges.
of all these, i loved my potato patties the most!!! CHO OISHII~!! i made it ALL FROM SCRATCH can?!!!
the mango and pork turned out well too~
okay so basically the whole dinner was GOOD! and the best part is the whole meal didn't take long to prepare! as compared to my old cooking records which usually consisted of simpler dishes than these...
everyone enjoyed it so i'm really happy and satisfied (^O^)

i wanna go out so badly!!
i can understand why you two want to see each other every single day. but it doesn't mean that i want to see you too!! (>_<)""

it can only be a dream
10:26 PM

OMG guess what??!!!
i dreamt of KAME last night/this morning!!! (^0^)
can't really remember it in detail now since the whole day passed with me being immersed in photography. ever second of it (-_-)
anyhow, i can still recall that it was on the mrt. and kame [more of the yuya-kame] was there sitting in another carriage opposite me. it was an totally empty train. we somehow know each other and he recognised me. and he came over.
but the strange thing is the dream also had xuewen [whom i lost contact with for dunno how many gazillion years...] and the even stranger thing is that she was pregnant too (o.O) although she wasn't really present in the dream as a character but just had a presence...
so yuya-kame was really cheery and bouncy and he rattled on all the way. we alighted at bedok. then once we got outside the ticket machines, i passed him a really heavy bag saying its pregnant xuewen's and asked him to carry it for me.
and i guess it ended there (>.<) funny dream isn't it?!! but yuya-kame was SO SO SO gorgeous in it!!! with the lovely half tied hair from the dance competition on utawara. and he was dressed very very yuya-ish. LOL!

well, today was spent assisting willy in a photography course [what else?!] for ITE lecturers at simei. seems like ITE's gonna start a course/module on photography so the lecturers gotta learn it first, hence it called for today's 'workshop'. i was supposed to be assisting willy in teaching and helping the lecturers but in the end i think i took part in the learning together with the lecturers more than i assisted (^-^) but really, today's session was equal to all our photog lectures combined with more practical and useful tips and go abouts (>_<) [like what's new yea?] he shared how he took almost all of his portfolio photos, which was GREAT!!

please sign in and get your lunch/tea break coupons

lets all awe at how amazing this small little printer prints!

i can't believe it that willy only got to know about the better bounce card only yesterday!! - while he was looking for a photo of the bounce card for his slides he came across the better bounce video. like (O.O)!! he was the last person i would expect not to know of the better bounce card. no, i didn't even think that he would not know about it. and he actually wanted to purchase it online!! and for your information it costs USD 39 . while our superman bounce is only like a dollar SING. i heard him talking about it with william so i showed him mine. the superman could fit his flash too! he looked professional EVEN with the superman flash. us? (-__-) forget it. with or without is still the same.

don't i look pro even with that silly looking bounce card?!

so actually he also thinks that it is really a better bounce.
tjan, no worries about that look he had now (^-^)

i carried my crumpler along EVERYWHERE i went - lunch, outdoor hands-on, etc.. then one of the lecturers saw my bag at lunch and said something like 'that's your weapon right..' of course not weapon la! it's like my baby can?! a spanking new crumpler with an also brand new 400D. i gotta protect it with my life!! can't bear to just leave it in that room. what if? what if??!! no no no.
willy told everyone to keep their lens caps on when we got to the outside so as to prevent condensation. ???!!! i was carrying the nikon d2hs and the body was condensing like crazy!! metal one leh!! i just kept my 400d in the bag. how can i risk it like that?!

it's the first time i stepped into an ITE campus. it was quite nice, but the rooms looked too dull and identical. and the fountain stage thing was kinda cool. quite a few of the lecturers i met today are really young!! they look only a few years older than me??
ITE simei's toilets remind me of kindergarten toilets. short, bright cheerful yellow doors with blue and green checkered tiles for the walls. LOL!! i thought it was only the food court, but it was also like that on the fifth level!! hahah!!
the food there is cheap though.

ITE simei campus

the lock deprived locker.

i went to their studio too. really small. but they use sony HD cameras!! 3 of them summore! compared to our big bulky ones... tsk. it's even smaller than those that we use for single cam!!! grrr.... but they only had 2 video suites.

when he was sending me home...
willy: which poly are you from?
me: TP
willy: who else is from there?
me: huimin, joan, marian, gabriel
my thoughts at that moment: why did he ask that?!! must be that he thought that i was like such a LOUSY assistant that knew nothing and wasnt of any help at all and began to label other TP mates too. oh no!!! i've not only ruined his perception of me today, i ruined them too!! (>_<)
i'm so sorry!!!

quote of the day : 'just shut it off and then shut on again. it should work.'

i just thought the auto white balance was nice

IMF reflection
11:12 PM

Day 1 - 13 Sept 2006
Met everyone at City Hall's Long John Silvers at 11am. Finally got our passes!! Access to all restricted areas in Suntec and around the whole area. But VERY VERY sadly, my name was mis-spelt, it was spelt as YIP KA MUN. and aileen said that it'll take another long while to clear if i report that mistake (T_T). really kinda sad, since it's such a memorable item that i'll be keeping.
Anyways, walked to suntec with all the others. my feet was killing me. i was in the green flowery pumps that day and it really tortured my feet. First thing we had a tour of the place and went to the plenary hall at level 6. Since that was the BIGGEST event that we will be shooting at, we tested out the lighting and positioning etc. the floors were all covered with huge plastic sheets still!! then had our group photo taken against the stage. which is now printed into name card size for us by willy. Zaobao came to take photos of us and interviewed marian, jisheng and john.

Day 2 - 14 Sept 2006

Our photo was published on the FRONT PAGE of Zaobao today!! Got 2 copies of it for keepsake and portfolio. LOL
And our 'schedule' was 'confirmed'. i was supposed to be down for duty on 16 and 19 sept. Although it turned out to be a totally different case in the end and i went for 5 days straight. Since did not have events today, went to get the bouce card stuff with huimin. that's the story about the superman bounce card and my 30cents.

Day 3 - 15 Sept 2006

Wasnt on duty but had to go for a meeting at 6pm. met jisheng and qamar [group members] for the first time.
this was the faithful day that he called. and at that time i had simply NO idea who he was (>_<) stupid me.

Day 4 - 16 Sept 2006

First event!! was supposed to shoot with a guy named PJ [i still havent figured out his name...] but!!! constantine grabbed our job!! and he took UGLY photos! (>_<) second event was with the group shooting a press conference. very few people were present. my photos formed the majority of that event at the photo booth (^-^)v

Day 5 - 17 Sept 2006

Second official day of shooting.
Went around with jisheng to take random people near the entrance but failed tremendously. Then after lunch was with yuxin at ocean 4 at pan pacific hotel shooting a climate seminar. which the photos are not uploaded till this day!!! o(>_<)o" I cant recall if there were any other events for today.

Day 6 - 18 Sept 2006

Finally a shoot with huimin. at ocean 4 again shooting a mainly singapore seminar. saw 3 ministers but had no idea of the names. Then it was the pleanary practice at 3pm. After that was an african meeting which got cancelled but no one was informed. even the african delegates themselves didnt know! tsk.
Then got a chance to witness a protest. but it was disappointing. only one lone argentine man playing dead. right.

Day 7 - 19 Sept 2006

Basically it was only the pleanary. Which turned out to be utter disapointment as very few countries' delegates appeared.
both of us then had to shoot a lecture in the evening. we were actually free after this event. but aloysius called saying that he needed/wanted the fisheye lens from huimin for the fireworks. so that'll be around 9pm. so both of us went to shop around and waited till then to go down to esplanade. it was a blast!!! had tons of fun!! since that event was a fancy social event showcasing the ethnic groups' food and culture. free food, free drinks and beer. and not forgetting the fireworks!!! darryl d was the host (-_-)" although we never got the chance to say hi. had our fisheye group photo after the whole thing.
i was dead beat after it ended at around 11pm. took a shuttle with huimin and liji to city hall and cabbed back. the cab uncle was very friendly and talked about his travels and what nots. (^-^)

Day 8 - 20 Sept 2006

Last day!! only had a brief plenary shoot in the morning.
then celebrated marian's birthday and had fun the whole day basically. had another group photo taken at the lobby of suntec convention hall with willy's camera from the third floor. and also one at the one and only press room undismantled yet.
dinner at marche and went to labyrinth after that for pool. the session when i wanted to stay longer because of.... but well...

This basically should sum up the whole of the hectic one week of IMF/Worldbank meetings 2006!!!
Should really jot all this down before my memory fails me. which i suspect will be very very soon. so even though this is kinda late... who cares?
