just like taking the train...
2:45 PM

I'm back again.... for a while!!
I've been flying so often that boarding a plane feels as ordinary as taking a train. I'm rather upset that flying is not exciting anymore, I'm sad that I don't get the tingly feeling when checking in or going through the checks. But I still love the wonderful view from the tiny window! Especially at night, it never fails to impress me.
This last minute trip to Heshan/HK was so much love!! 2 days in heshan and 4 days in hongkong is definitely too short!!! way too short!!

15 jan
We were basically on the road from sunrise to sunset. And this was us in shenzhen waiting for our bus to heshan. After the painstakingly long bus trip that almost killed us (twice!), we reached heshan in the evening and rushed to the office to visit regina!

It was boss' birthday so we went for a lavish dinner at the restuarant which seemed more like a chalet cos each VIP room is like an individual house. I always awe at china's vast vast unlimited land whenever we dine here. Dinner was great though I didn't have much appetite despite not having eaten anything since like 5am at the airport cos I was too exhausted from all the travelling. Of cos we had to drink a little but it wasn't that bad and we had tian di yi hao too!! Omg how i miss that vinegar!! Regina still remembered I like vinegar and kangkong LOL. And thankfully Richard looked after me throughout the dinner or else I think all I would have would be soup and vinegar! We went for K after dinner but left after a really short while cos well... it's not a place for girls like us to be. So we met up with queenie, went dvd shopping and massage and finally KO-ed at like 3am.

16 jan
Before going to the office, we went to the supermarket to relive those times again. And took this super old school puri! It's totally more old school that the very first version of neoprint I ever took all the way back in primary 4! Since it's only 8 RMB we whacked anyway. Reirei looks like a guy~~~!!

Taxi!! Our only mode of public transport in heshan.

I wanted to capture the bleak grey sky of heshan but my camera's white balance is so smart that it gave the sky a tinge of blue (-_-) But omg when you're there in person, you will see how horrendous the air is! It's so hazy and dusty that you won't dare to inhale too deeply cos you'll feel your lungs being polluted and the sky is like opaque walls of grey, it's really sad.

Aha! Lunch at the canteen! So many funny things happened here, and rei was so mean she imitated a particular someone drinking soup!! ROFL! The soup tasted exactly the same! I love love the soup~~

I think we used to have a photo like this from before too. Awww... those were the times.

We were finally back to civilisation at 9pm and we headed to yoshinoya for shabushabu!! Nice! But our flame for the shabu was so pathetic that everyone around us came and left but our soup haven't even started bubbling! Yoshinoya's chawanmushi looks like japanese milk pudding.

17 jan
Went shopping with reirei the entire day and i splurge like crazy. 500HKD at the very first shop in argyle centre?!! O.O It was satisfying though. So we shopped and shopped until it was about time for her to leave for X japan while I lugged all the loot back home.
Dinner at urawa japanese restuarant in sheungwan was awesome! I didn't know ebiko sushi goes so well with raw quail egg~ Yumm

18 jan
The first half of the day was spent doing last minute shopping with rei at H&M and CWB. I was just at H&M about a month ago and I couldn't get a single thing that time but this time I just grabbed and grabbed as though money dropped from the skies. Ahhh~ seems like my shopping mood came back. After sending reirei off, we had steamboat dinner at home!! Steamboat is still the best during winter~
Desmond was super nice (as usual ^3^) and took leave to 'play' with me so we met after dinner at MK for Red Cliff 2! And before the movie he totally played his part as a good HK citizen in helping boost the economy, I fail tremendously at this compared to him. He spent like five six thousand at one go??!!! O.O Rich lor~~ unlike pitiful unemployed me (>_<)" Anyways, he bought a new phone... like finally. Grey and green is nice isn't it!! And it's totally not fair cos there's the pink version of this phone in HK!!! But well, I love my patriotic phone nonetheless.
The movie was awesome but I guess I underestimated the weather and caught a cold... leading to a total nightmare. I went home, KO-ed and then woke up about 6am and puked. Exactly the same as the previous trip to HK, even the time I woke up to puke. I am so so lousy. Why do I always fall sick??!!! What a wet blanket. I got so pissed at myself.

19 jan

But anyways, I couldn't possibly stay at home and spoil the holiday so I swallowed some medicine and headed out to meet him again. Finally, I went to THE HUGEST AGNES B AT IFC!!! It's like a pilgrimage, so exciting LOL. Agnes b delice was slightly disappointing but the whole concept store was amazing~~~ After my pilgrimage, we decided to take the first ferry departing from the terminal next to IFC. It turned out that the ferry was headed to Mui Wo, so off to Mui Wo we went!

Ahhh~ what can be better than blue sky and the ocean and mountains?! I finally came to understand how holidays should be like this, relaxing under the blue skies and enjoying the fresh breeze. All I cared about during holidays used to be purely shopping and eating, but after Perth, I think I am beginning to love the feeling of being under a vast blue sky, overlooking the ocean or gazing at mountains. Much much love. But of cos, I still need my shopping fixes.

We took a bus to the Big Buddha monastery. Cos the bus trip was uphill, the higher we climbed, the more of the ocean we were able to see. It was fantastic! I never imagined that such scenery existed in HK!!!

The big buddha!! It's only the second time I've been here. The previous time was all foggy and grey but how awesome it was this time~

After climbing up the gazillion steps (all the stairs climbing during sinema times did me well, at least I wont faint at the sight of the looooong flight of stairs LOL), we went up, awed at the view and went down to pray and eat tau huay!

Since we were at the big buddha, we had to visit ngong ping like a typical tourist! You can see the HK airport from the cable car!!! And then at this faithful moment, my camera died on me. GAHHHH I was so absentminded I forgot to charge my camera!!! DANG! It happens every single time, it's been at least.... 3 times? and it always happens when desmond's around (-_-)
During dinner, I was so sick I had to be sent back home straight away. I'm such a party pooper I am terribly sorry. It's always me isn't it? I felt so bad after that... (T_T) me and my weak physique...
And so a wonderful trip ended on such an awful note. Had to trouble winnie to take off from work to send me off in the afternoon. But thankfully she was here or else I think I wouldn't have made it for my flight. muacks <3

Dragged myself to the doctor yesterday, she diagnosed me with gastric flu and ordered me not to take anything cold, spicy or oily - all the most important aspects of my diet!!! Grr... I survived 2 days on mee sua with sausage. How sad. Not even a drop of chilli!! I am devastated. When can I have bak kwa~~~?

12 hours later...
5:37 PM

In about 12 hours time, I'll be at the airport waiting for our flight to HK. Sometimes I really wonder why I wanted this additional trip to hk... But then again, nothing's better than flying 3 hours to a shopping haven where i can shop and eat and freeze my butt off (:

Painting is such tiring work >_____<

food!!
11:15 PM

And i've been eating and eating and eating since the new year. I really ought to burn off the calories in some ways or other.. Cycling, please???

Cute cute buttons from the frozen yogurt shop - 'frolick', at holland v! The yogurt's not bad but the steamboat at crystal jade was much better!!!

And today's buffet at kuishinbo~
Loveee the chawanmushi and sashimi, but desserts were disappointing though >_<

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
11:01 PM

A toast to the new year! Kaya and butter toast~!
Cheers~~!
Our first photo in 2009! Ben went for 'dessert' so too bad for him.
After counting down at the HK cafe at marina square and witnessing a war, we randomly went to marina barrage cos we thought night safari should be closed...

Ahhh it's a really nice chill out place at 2am. The view was fabulous!!

And we were tugging at this little fellow who was floating in the air.

This mysterious stairs seem to lead to a place where sampans can dock...

City on fireeeee!!!

A brand new day, a brand new year.
What did 2008 bring, what will 2009 bring?
Let's look forward to the brand new year together! yosh~~! (^o^)9
