steamboat!
11:39 PM

What can be more awesome than steamboat in the cold cold winter??!
Though our grocery shopping was slightly rushed, but steamboat was still very very good! But I am not a lean mean eating machine!! I didn't eat alot what!!! It's the weather! Or maybe even, I have worms in my tummy! whahaha

This sem should be quite enjoyable. 4 units with only one unit that has exam. Should I drop that unit and find some other non examinable unit? But I do have quite a bit of interest in this unit though. What should I do? Study because of interest or go home early this holiday? If I have no exams this sem, I can book tickets now and fly back during the last week of october!! How awesome is that?!!! But if i go ahead with that unit, I will have to wait until the exam timetable comes out, which i suppose will be very late as usual, and then fly back the first week of nov at the very very earliest. Urgh.

I need to learn to tie my hair or else the wind will blow it all away.

down south!
12:14 AM

Liying had been talking about this place since last sem and yesterday, we finally went down south to mandurah to visit the miniature village! Though it was a rather strange group consisting of april, me, liying, liying's landlady and her 3 colleagues, but it was still a great day trip! I woke up at 8am for it!!

We reached mandurah after a 45minute train ride on the line that i used to take every single day. Only now that I realised how far apart the stations are! And it takes forever just to reach cockburn central. It was somehow nostalgic taking the train and passing by murdoch and cockburn though.

We took a HATS bus down to the miniature village. The driver/guide was a really nice and happy old man and he gave a very informative and interesting tour during the drive.

So here we were at Abingdon Miniature Village. A 4-acre garden with mini sized old english buildings.

I thought this looked very real on photo. It's like a far away helicopter shot of a small village isn't it?!

The buildings weren't much to shout about but the next 2 are more interesting...

There were 2 garden mazes inside the village. And this was actually a cheat shot cos we entered from the exit and this spot was just a few steps from it. hahaha! but in the end we still went into the maze the correct way and got lost!!

Shortly after we found our way out of the maze, it began raining!! But luckily it was just passing showers which lasted for about a minute or two each. But ever since this first shower, we had these very short showers all throughout the day! Until when on our way home, it began pouring continuously >_<>

Since it was drizzling, we went to enjoy coffee and cakes at the heritage tea rooms. It was such a quaint and cozy little place! And there was a wedding going on too!

It was filled with antiques which added to the whole traditional english ambience. The china ware used were also very exquisite. Very pretty! We even found a drawer filled with them whenfiddling with the furniture in the room while we waited for our food to come.

After our tea break, it was time for us to get back onto the HATS bus and head to the mandurah city area. Everywhere around the city were new residential projects and they are going for at least AUD3 million!

Pretty pretty waters glistening in the sun~ But they are exceptionally glaring for the eyes. I wished i wore shades!

Dolphin quay reminds me of freo. But a much much cleaner and not crowded freo.

Liying's hugging-the-pole shot inspired us too~!

Ahoy! We hijacked a kids playground.

Although mandurah is very ulu, they had a arts performing centre! How nice it'll be for those who live there - sailing, good food, arts appreciation, water and the sun!

There's ciscerello's at mandurah too. And suprisingly, it's cheaper and much nicer! We shared had a seafood platter and deluxe seafood chowder which was amazing and also pecked on liying's landlady's chilli mussels which were fab too! The mussels weren't as big and juicy as those from little creatures but sauce definitely wins hands down. It was terrific! They even packed the remaining sauce home. After our late lunch, april and i headed home first cos we didn't want to return too late and cos weekend bus timings suck. And then, it rained and rained. It's still raining now. Will be too tmr and the day after and after.

It's my first time uploading photos on FB! I'm suprised at how fast and convenient it is.

perth is a big place
11:26 PM

As part of my enjoy-while-you-still-can campaign, I've been going out very often to explore big big perth before uni starts next week!
First was a trip to the museum! Most photos are in liying's phone though, since her camera is better. but this is me kinda horrified next to the skeleton of some famous race horse. /shudders skeletons are so freaky! they had like all sorts, elephant, hippo, camel, koala, dolphin and tons of others. The other exhibitions were also very interesting. They had everything from earth's magma to outer space and everything in between from dinosaurs to modern age electric knifes.

And then, yesterday i joined april, aden and his aunt to AQWA at hillarys harbour. It's only the second time i've been to hillarys. it was so awesome. the weather was fantastic! i loved the view. and the beach! the sand was so soft and the ocean was limitless! as usual. all the beaches here have the most amazing view! photos from normal cameras do them no justice at all, i say. you need at least like a 5mm or less lens for that! if that is ever possible. it was just so wide, so wide its more than your eyes can even see!

This is just part of the harbour. Forgotten to take a photo of AQWA though. The inside is pretty much like underwater world. But shorter tunnel and larger place. With more funky creatures.

stingray!! i want to eatttttt!

i think close ups of fish are very cute. they look stunned.

i like this coral!! very happy looking!! its called a daisy coral or something.

croc! they only had a very very tiny live saltwater croc.. not big ones like this. crocs are very amazing creatures. and a very random and unrelated fact: there is a one in ten chance of dying from eating fugu! and another one: sharks can lose up to 30 000 teeth in their life time! see, how educational such trips are!

The outdoors is so windy!! this is one of the few with my hair not all over the place. ahhh winter is really here... super windy every where! and this was the stingray bay with very few stingrays. we missed the stingray guided tour though.

Look what i found at coles!!! it's the local version of marks and spencers' percy pig and pals!! it tastes exactly the same, looks exactly the same! fantastic!!! I can so finish one pack a day. They are the most amazing not greasy gummies ever!! Its sad how many counterfeits of this gummy there is! But yay, now i know that home brand food are edible. Just like how i loved the woolies assorted biscuits. so nostalgic the taste.

had steamboat tonight with the housemates. yum!!
its our first dinner together after so long! daniel sure can cook up a feast!

all things bright and happy
12:10 AM

i would have loved this photo if it wasn't blurred. but still, that day at the art gallery was awesome! i'm waiting for more photos from liying. and we're having a day at the museum tmr! i'm looking forward to it! the exhibition on nick cave seems really interesting.

and today, being a lazy sunday, we decided to make better use of our time and embarked on my (our) project! how pretty is my notice board?!?!! i mean, from a boring plain brown cork board to this charming little splash of colour?!! amazing isn't it! and did i mention how i loved the ikea sale from which i bought a metre of this wonderful fabric for only 2 bucks?! it's so simple, fabric and notice board and tada! lovely!

And this is another of my new addition from ikea! brightens up the room immediately! and of cos, combined with the colourful flowery bedsheet brought from home, its perfect, albeit mismatched. and that throw, which we refer to as burberry, received a comment of being a cloth for someone in wheelchair. how mean is that?! anyhow, i think it matches wonderfully and has such a cozy winter feel to it!

spending a bit of money on such colourful things was all worth it. it really did cheer me up alot considering how rather down i've been recently. and having internet back is so awesome. no more getting frustrated at how msn and fb doesnt load! and sadly, they had been a very crucial part of my aussie life. but now, say hi to endless dramas and movies on the wonderful world wide web! fingers crossed the 5 of us wont max out the 75GB peak internet quota anytime soon!

however, i am aching badly from this drama-watching sedentary lifestyle of mine. i should really try staring at my lappie standing up.

and i am gonna try making green milk tea tmr! bubble tea style!

孤獨旅程
9:35 PM

It was such a miserable feeling to come back to an empty house. No one's waiting for me, no one's gonna help me with my luggage, nothing. The loneliness seemed to be magnified in this hollow house that dark, cold night. After paying 45 bucks for a cab that seemed to have taken the longest route possible from the airport to home, I rummaged my bag for the keys and dragged my heavy luggage all the way back inside hoping to see a smiling face after unlocking the door, but i was disappointed. Bernice was out, not even jelaine and the bf was home. So thus, my lonely journey begins again. After 3 weeks of fantastic company, it's back to boring routine life. Luckily it won't be long. Just got to endure 4 months.

On a happier note, went out with liying today. She's the first person i knew who actually likes going to art galleries and museums too! The WA arts gallery and museum has such awesome exhibitions! We didnt actually go into the museum exhibition cos i was too hungry. but will do so soon!!

Michael Jackson's tribute and concert's on tv. It must be exhilarating to watch him perform live. He's such a legend. King of pop. Forever.
