dead deadlines
11:58 PM

End of sem is coming, which means deadlines are looming! ):
There's still 2 major essays, one major video and 2 presentations to go before 1st june! It is really crazy but I still don't have the energy to do work!! As usual, I'm stressing cos I'm not stressed over assignments. Hopefully I'll get some editing done tomorrow. No point waiting for our group to come together cos we dont get much done as a group. It is so horrible being in a group that's not interested in production and that has an idiot whose ideas are like the crappiest ever and well, he's an idiot who irritates the hell outta every single one of us. I really wonder how anyone on earth can stand him!

Anyhow, it was Mad's birthday on sunday!!!!
Of cos we had to do something for our dear friend's birthday!! Bernice and I deco-ed the house and made lunch and baked a mud cake!! Lunch was so overwhelmingly good, if I may say so myself, I was so stuffed I didnt even have dinner!

I'm so glad our little party went well~ Love the balloons!! The cake was really amazing too! Chocolate cake with nutella icing! Oh which reminds me we still have the chocolate frosting which came with the betty crocker cake mix. I wonder what we should do with it...

This was on our way out to the city cos I had to go to a party and Mad gotta head home. I love this balloon too!! It was really funny when I was getting ready and doing my make up before heading out. It was like the whole pre-wedding thing with bernice and mad as my jie-meis! ROFL! I was just excited about my first night out la...

And then, it was my first 'party' in perth! It's the eurovision event where the european students of uwa come together at a pub to watch the annual singing contest that involves 42 countries in europe! Eurovision was spectacular! It's like this massive massive event in europe and everyone is just hyped up and patriotic. Norway won! Some guy with a violin. Party was cool though we were supposed to be doing research on alcopops. But whatever, no one drinks them anyway. I had a smirnoff, which is an alcopop and tastes like lemonade. I thought alcopops should taste slightly of alcohol like breezers but smirnoff was like totally unalcoholic tasting. Then I had 2 wonderful cocktails, l'amour and violet crumble. L'amour was a fruity one with strawberry and mango liquer while violet crumble was like a creamy milkshake. They were really really good!! I was totally amazed how unalcoholic they tasted! I mean those cocktails in singapore that I tried still tasted like alcohol. No wonder people like to get smashed here. The drinks are so good!!

I LOVE YOU TJAN! The uchiwa is so pretty!! ありがとう!! I propped it up on my noticeboard. miss you loads and loads! Can't wait to come back too!! <3

ciao italia!
12:30 AM

Tonight's dinner was probably the best meal i had in perth so far!! Ciao Italia has like the most amazing pizza, best tortellini, great ambience and most importantly, the bestest tiramisu!! It so was wonderful. We arrived at 5.50pm and already there was a long queue!! Luckily we were a small party of 3 so we got seats rather fast. Food came like at least half an hour later cos the whole place was just overflowing with customers! But food was definitely worth the wait. We wolved down our pasta and had our pizzas. They must have thought we were crazy ordering 2 pastas, 2 pizzas and 3 desserts for a table of 3 when the table of 5 beside us order just one pasta and one pizza to share and a single tiramisu to share!!! But as expected we over ordered cos Aden boasted about his appetite waaaay too much. We had a combined full pizza left! Half of a smoked salmon and half of a chili king prawn pizza. And dessert was really as good as they said it would be. The tiramisu was dripping with aromatic coffee and layered with the creamiest mascarpone cheese ever. The cake was so soft and the whole thing just melts in your mouth. ummmmm.... What a way to end this truly delightful dinner. Must visit ciao italia again! Or at else have it delivered! /love!

I finished a novel in 3 days! It's a shocking acheivement. In the midst of my assignments I actually have the time to read and read a full book in such short time!! Cos internet is rather sucky recently, i thought it would be better to read than to be agitated at pages that take ages to load. Reading is not too bad eh?

Wheee~ first party on Sunday!

slow internet kills
12:22 AM

Why can't there be unlimited internet here where all you pay is like 100 bucks tops in order to download and upload and download and stream and download like there's no tomorrow for the entire month?!!! Snail slow internet for 3 days is already driving me crazy. Apparently, we've reached our quota for the MONTH! there's still another 2 weeks!!! like omg i can just die. and that also means that from now on i have to work on my essays in school. This is bad.

Very often I still find all this so surreal. This as in me in perth studying in uni this. It's been so many months already but sometimes when I think about my time here, I still can't really believe it. It's like the fact that I am in perth, almost completing half of my uni course hasn't really sunk in. Yes, I am this slow. Maybe it will just never really occur to me that I am away from home and actually doing a uni degree. I somehow couldn't see myself doing this before, and I don't really think i can now either. It's like everything just happened but I can't seem to figure out that they are actually REAL. It's weird.

One month countdown to home!!

after the dust has settled
11:38 PM

On the first day i moved in, we went to ikea in search of stuff to furnish my room and the house! After deliberating for the longest time and with a lot a lot of consideration, i bought my very first piece of furniture!! And also bedsheets, quilt cover, kids clothes hangers (they're adorable!! lovely colours though slightly small) and drawer organisers!
Unpacking the contents of the 28kg heavy box, this was my chest of drawers in thousands of pieces, waiting for us to DIY typical ikea style:
To our horror, there weren't any tools supplied other than the alan key!! With a dozen screws and tens of nails to be installed, no screwdriver, no hammer - we were damned. But.... clever people like us began to improvise. And look what we found~!:

A 2.5kg dumbbell for hammer and a knife for screwdriver! And also a swiss knife for a tiny crosshead screwdriver. I swear we grew muscles from all that hammering!!

Bernice was such a dear to help me out. Both of us assembled and assembled until wayyy past midnight. And tada! Our proud accomplishment!!:

My first ever piece of real furniture and we assembled it ourselves with totally wrong tools! I'm so proud of our effort.
And this is how the rest of my small little room looks like now...

I love having breakfast for dinner and i bought too much meat today.

is that 12 pieces?!
10:44 PM

Omg moving requires such a hugeeeee load of work!! I am exhausted.
From the initial 2 luggage + 2 boxes became 2 luggage, 2 boxes, 3 big bags, printer box, 2 smaller bags, one small box and one back pack! O M G i just hope they can all fit into the car. and most importantly, they can all fit into the room!!

New place, new life!
here i come!!!
