After sending mum and dad off at the airport, it was the start of my photography adventure with sis!! Initially, I intended to go to bukit merah only - to look for that CdGGS+65 shop. And after that was sinking of japan at vivo. But... on the way there on the train, sis spotted the chinese wayang tentages just next to eunos station. So... thinking it might be a good place to shoot something old, something new, we cancelled the trip to vivo. And... while at bukit merah, where I didn't really get good shots, I thought of returning to arab street. To the same place that nhk (LOL!!) went to on thursday!!
Therefore, today was such a fruitful day cos I went from changi airport to bukit merah to bugis and lastly to eunos (^-^)v
First destination.... Bukit merah!!
Somewhere that I have never been before....
Somewhere that I have never been before....

It's a really OLD estate!! There were quite a few salons like this, and basically all VERY traditional shops. But the old folks there (which I think makes up the majority of the bukit merah population..) are very friendly!!
The legendary CdGGS!! It's a really weird setting to be in!! Such an old estate and such a futuristic japanese fashion outlet. But the clothes they have are indeed lovely. And at a VERY high price. These two guys are TOTALLY clueless about this shop but they are dressing as though they are fans (-__-)"
Then was bugis...

And then, off to eunos after shopping at muji and getting mum's bling bling birthday present...
When we got there, I suddenly got all nervous and didn't know if I should approach them and ask if I can take some photos. But in the end, they turned out to be really nice people and told me to come back at about 6.30pm when they start their makeup.
After eating and strolling around (and eunos turned out to be another really old estate..), I went back and up to their backstage. Literally up, I had to climb a ladder!! Freakkyyy....

These performers are really pro!! They didn't even rehearse backstage and can go straight on stage when just a second ago, they were doing their make up!
And they only put on their costumes just before going out on stage. They have their own normal clothes underneath. Imagine the heat!!

This was taken through the big hole where the musicians look through to see what's going on on stage so as to follow the performer's pace. It actually rained just before the show started. And there's still so much audience!!
Chinese opera doesn't seem so bad after all.
I seriously think I am falling sick *sniff*
