there goes my 2 months minus 3 days break. a whole new school term is gonna start in 8+ hours. this 2 months seemed SO SHORT!! and yes, i am already looking forward AND planning for my next break which will be in december.
this break has been my busiest holidays ever!! i've never really had many slack days. either i'm out with friends or working or doing photog. i think i only had about 3 days total SLACK days in total (O.O) that's definitely some kind of record.
these last 3 days of freedom was spent going out with mel, shooting at geylang serai's hari raya celebrations, REBONDING my hair, getting [and exchanging] lenses.
final friday [20 oct]
met mel for lunch and shopped around bugis where i got a shirt [which turned out to be too tight (>_<)]. tjan joined us later and 3 of us got a shirt each and mel got herself a birthday dress!!! after bugis was meeting raymond and gabriel at the stadium. photography wasn't allowed there but there wasnt anything interesting to shoot anyway. then went in search of the famous old airport road hawker but failed and settled dinner at some deserted coffee shop. got on another bus to geylang serai... and saw that hawker!! booo.
geylang serai was totally crammed with people. all that jostling, gosh. but it was extremely 热闹. practically everyone was there. malay or non malays alike. all in that oh-so-excited festive mood. it's much much nicer than chinese new year at chinatown. chinese just doesn't seem to be excited about new years anymore. especially youngsters when it comes to shopping. but at geylang serai, there were like SO SO MANY groups of youngsters going together.
the hari raya goodies are like awesome!!! they even made cookies in the shape and colour of bananas, strawberrys, green apples, watermelons [both red and yellow!!! (^o^)] and mushrooms!! cho cho kawaii!!! i didn't get to taste any of them though...
anyways, it was a really refreshing experience going to a malay festive occasion like this (^-^)

there were TONS of colourful and pretty carpets on sale!!! only if i could lug this home...
some twirly whirly sticks for decorations. i think they're really pretty too.
spending saturday [21 oct]
had breakfast at swensens tampines and went to have a hair cut since school's gonna start and my hair is like forever unkempt. i somehow just can't get rid of the habit of having a hair cut before school starts. it's so secondary school.
anyways, that morning i was hesitating whether or not should i colour my hair. but still decided that it's not time yet. so, went to i*con at century square wanting to just have a hair cut. i told dave, my hair stylist, that i wanted to get rid of the irritaing curls but keep the length. yea, i know it's kinda impossible, but still.... he started snipping away. and he was done very soon later. then, he told me that some of the curls will still be there due to the length and suggested that i rebond or straighten just to let it grow longer and i can do whatever else i want then. mum was having her hair cut beside me so i asked her if i should rebond. she supported that idea - since she is like a total fan of rebonding. so since the one paying gave the green light, i went ahead for the rebond. totally unexpected. but it turned out quite good i think. it's not the really flat results and the ends doesn't really fall straight straight, kinda natural. i like it.
and nad asked why didn't i get the frizzy perm instead last night. YEA!!! i just totally forgot about that frizzy hair that i wanted to have. right (>.<) after the hair cut, dad and i went to sim lim square. and there he bought me not 1, but 2 lenses!!! OMGosh. initially, i was thinking of the 17-55mm 2.8 IS lens, BUT it is SO SO SO HEAVY!!! and expensive.. then tried the 17-85mm 4-5.6 IS lens and it was quite good- the weight and range. so decided to get it and also the 50mm 1.8. both the lenses plus the filters didn't even cost as much as the 2.8 lens!!! can you imagine??!!! [and even if i get a hood for the 17-85, it'll still be cheaper!!! (>_<)]
sian sunday [today]
spent the morning palying theme hospital. it's REALLY entertaining!! all those silly illnesses and hilarious hospital broadcasts : "Patients are expected to be patient" "Patients are reminded not to die in the corridors" "Patients are reminded not to vomit too much". LOL!
and edited the childcare videos for mum.
then we went to alan photo again to get the 50mm changed cos there was a dot on the lens. but they ran out of stock. gotta go back again next week.
dinner was at nanxiang xiaolongbao at bugis!!! THE XIAOLONGBAO CHO OISHII!!! (^3^) it's even better than ding tai feng's. but the other stuff i find them too salty and oily. so it shows that nanxiang is more authentic (^-^)
since sis wasn't full, we had banana pizza at pasta mania after that.
came back, and was on theme hospital once again.
so there goes my 2 months~~
i can just see the evil fingers of school clawing at me from behind....
i can't wait for december!!!
and FYI, my birthday is coming real soon.
only 19 days away.... tra la la la~~
