CNY is almost over and what's left of the new year is our pot of kumquats (and lots of goodies actually)! Unlike many, we bought our pot of tiny oranges not for its symbolization of luck (?) but for the fruit itself! It's the third year we're doing this. We cut off all the little things and stuff them all in a bottle filled with salt! Hopefully after 5 years we can have our preserved kumquats that works wonders for sore throats! The bottle from 3 years ago is still light brown but the ones from grandma is almost black!! Still a long way to go to our miracle remedy! And they are so going to be our dowry. LOL we grew up on this k!
